Paying with a Check
We accept checks and money orders from U.S. funds from U.S. financial institutions. Checks from foreign banks cannot be accepted due to processing costs. Do you report my contact hours to CE Broker?
ALLEGRA Learning automatically submits your continuing education (CE) contact hours to CE Broker. CE Broker is the name of Florida’s state-mandated electronic tracking system developed for the Florida Department of Health to help track and facilitate audits of continuing education (CE) credits earned by health care practitioners in Florida and the District of Columbia. For complete information, please click here...
What is the difference between contact hours and CEUs?
A contact hour is a unit of measure that represents an hour of instruction.
A continuing education unit (CEU) represents ten contact hours of instruction.
Both a contact hour and a CEU represent participation in an organized educational experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction.
While the two terms tend to be used interchangeably, this is actually incorrect. In the health care profession, the term contact hour(s) is the correct term for continuing education.
Certificate Program "Certificates of Completion"
If you have registered for a certificate program (such as the Certificate in Gerontology or the Certificate in End-of-Life Care) you will not receive individual certificates of completion for every course. Instead, you will receive a Certificate of Completion once the entire certificate program is complete.
Can I Purchase Only One Certificate?
No. You can purchase as many certificates as you like. By selecting a "bundle" option, you can select as many courses and/or certificate combinations as you wish. There is no time limit for completion.
My Certificate Will Not Print
After taking your test, you need to complete an evaluation form. Once this is completed, your course completion information will be provided in “My Account” under “My Certificates.” Select “My Certificates” and then select the course(s) certificates you would like to print.
After I have completed and passed a course, will I be certified in this area?
Once you complete an ALLEGRA Learning course, you will receive a certificate showing the number of contact hours you have earned.
Certification is a national designation that is usually achieved by taking a national certification examination in the specific subject matter or specialty area.
What is the difference between a certificate program and certification?
A certificate program is a specially designed compilation of courses that have been "bundled" together to provide a comprehensive overview of a particular topic.
Certification is a national designation that is usually achieved by taking a national certification examination in the specific subject matter or specialty area. Read more here...
Why are certificate programs valuable?
Certificate programs distinguish you as a knowledgeable, skilled, and committed professional in the field of study. The certificate program enhances your professional marketability, builds your skills and competencies, fulfills continuing education requirements for many professionals, and develops an interdisciplinary perspective on the particular subjects in the program.
Can I use ALLEGRA’s continuing education courses to renew my license?
ALLEGRA Learning is accredited through several accrediting agencies, including the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation, the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. Every state will accept our continuing education courses for the renewal of license for nurses. For complete accreditation information about numerous health care specialties, click here.
ALLEGRA Learning’s continuing education (CE) contact hours are generally accepted by most professional health care organizations. However, we do not warrant that all professional organizations and state licensing boards will accept our contact hours. If in doubt, you are advised to contact your professional organization or licensing authority to confirm their acceptance of these contact hours.
I am not a nurse (or I am not licensed yet) but your system is asking for an RN license number. Can I take your tests?
Yes, you can take continuing education courses on our web Web site regardless of the status of your licensure. To complete the test, you cannot leave the license number field blank, but we are not verifying your licensure information so any data will do. If you are a licensed professional in another field, enter that information. If you have not yet received your license, you could enter “pending” or “student.” Make sure to pick values from the drop down menus for the license type and license state as well.
For all participants: Please check and make sure that you will be able to use our courses to meet whatever requirements you might be trying fulfill before taking our courses.
