About the Founders

Founded in 1994 by Cyndie Koopsen, RN, MBA,HN-BC and Caroline Young, MPH, ALLEGRA Learning Solutions, LLC creates, designs, develops, and implements print and online continuing professional education courses, curricula, and certificate programs for nurses and health care professionals. With a focus on integrative health, wellness, and a holistic perspective, ALLEGRA Learning Solutions is the premier provider of professional education content for health care professionals who wish to expand their skills and knowledge in these important, leading-edge areas of health care.

Cyndie Koopsen is a registered nurse with national certifications in public health and holistic nursing and a Master of Business Administration degree. She has cared for patients in many settings, including acute care, community clinics, and the home. Her professional nursing career has involved nursing executive leadership and administration, staff development and education, community education and wellness, and holistic care. In addition, she has designed, developed, and presented numerous educational workshops, seminars, and programs for multicultural audiences covering the entire spectrum of health promotion and wellness, chronic disease management, and disease prevention.

Caroline Young holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in health promotion. Her extensive public health background includes experience in research, workshop presentations in various areas of health care, and online and onsite teaching experience. In addition, she has expertise in holistic community health and wellness program design, development, marketing, implementation, and evaluation. She has also designed, developed, and presented integrative health programs for culturally diverse populations, senior populations, and faith communities.

Cyndie and Caroline have been actively involved in the health care field for a combined total of over 45 years. Both have traveled extensively to many countries and have a keen interest in the diverse cultures and health practices throughout the world. They have a passion for the philosophies and practices that support an integrative health focus. They have co-authored two texts entitled Spirituality, Health, and Healing and Integrative Health: A Holistic Approach for Health Professionals. Both have served as adjunct faculty members with several colleges. As the co-founders and co-CEOs of ALLEGRA Learning Solutions, LLC, they have designed and developed over 300 online professional continuing education courses and over 200 distance education courses for vocational, baccalaureate, and master's level degree programs. They have also designed and developed certificate programs in the areas of spirituality, integrative health, complementary and alternative medicine, and gerontology. Their clients and partners include leaders in the publishing, education, and health care industries.
